How to transfer away from 1&1

Thanks to this practical guide, transferring your domain name away from 1&1 to Aruba will be an absolute breeze. Also, if you transfer a .com, .net or .org domain name you can get up to 1 year free service! Follow these simple steps and easily transfer your .it, .com or any other domain name.
 

• Log in to your 1&1 account with your login details.
• In the domains panel click Manage Domains and select the domain you want to transfer to Aruba.
• In Domains settings open the Transfer/cancel domain option and click Transfer to another Provider.
• Before you transfer your domain to Aruba you need to check that it's unlocked. This needs to be checked for all domains except for .it domains, which are not locked / unlocked and can be transferred simply with the Authorization Code. To unlock your domain click disable next to the Domain transfer lock option and confirm by selecting yes.
• When the message Operation successfully completed appears go back to the initial page.
• To get the AuthInfo code select the domain name you want to transfer and click Edit domain settings. You'll find the Authorization Code at the bottom of the Basic settings page. For some TLDs the code is not available in the account details. In this case you will need to contact the 1&1 help centre.
• When you have the code enter the name of the domain you want to transfer to Aruba in the search box at the top of this page, select the extension (if different to .it) and click Transfer.
• Enter the AuthInfo code where required, select Yes or No to change the domain owner and click Proceed.
• If you wish to buy more services you can add them before you proceed. If, for example, you wish to transfer your WordPress site together with your domain, you will need a hosting plan.
• After submitting your order your domain will be transferred within 24/48 hours.
